Prestwick, West Coast

The Birthplace of The Open Championship in 1860, Prestwick, is one of Scotland’s quirkiest Links layout featuring blind shots, vast undulation, and utopian green complexes. The club’s rich history paired with a wonderful golf course on its doorstep sets up a champion’s day on and off the golf course.  The lunch here is not to be missed!

About

Curated West Coast Trips

One of Scotland’s true golfing heartlands, the region plays host to many of the nation’s finest layouts, including Trump Turnberry (Ailsa), Prestwick, and Royal Troon.  All three courses have hosted multiple Open Championships and have become fixtures in GOLF.com’s World Top 100. Nearby courses, including Western Gailes, Dundonald, and Kilmarnock Barrassie, allow for a depth of variety within the compact region of the West Coast for all experiences.

For those who like to adventure further afield still, Machrihanish, The Machrie, and the stunning Ardfin are a helicopter or boat ride away.

A trip to the West Coast offers many options, including world-class Spa facilities at Trump Turnberry and the local restaurants displaying the finest Scottish cuisine.
